A Challenge for an Incredible Cause
At the end of May, our Project Manager, Matt, took on an extraordinary challenge by participating in the 100K Ultra Challenge from London to Brighton, raising money for our good friends at Harry’s Rainbow.
Joining Matt on this epic journey were his brother, Rob Neal, Harry’s Rainbow founder Odette Mould, and Richard and Carl Wardle. Together, they set out with one goal in mind: to raise funds and awareness for a charity that provides invaluable support to bereaved children and young people.
Battling the Distance and the Heat
The team began their adventure in the early hours of Saturday 23rd May, setting off from Richmond Park, London with 100 kilometres of walking ahead of them. As if the distance alone wasn’t enough, the challenge took place during one of the hottest weekends of the year, with soaring temperatures adding an extra layer of difficulty to this walk.
Through the heat, exhaustion, aching muscles, sore feet, and very little sleep, the group dug deep and kept moving forward, motivated by the incredible cause they were supporting.
After more than a day on the move, the team finally arrived in Brighton at around 5pm on Sunday evening, having successfully completed the challenge.
£1,330 Raised and Counting
Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, colleagues, and supporters, the team raised an amazing £1,330 for Harry’s Rainbow.
Every pound raised will help the charity continue its fantastic work supporting children and young people who have experienced the loss of a parent or sibling, helping them create positive memories and access much-needed support during difficult times.
Friendship, Family and Determination
While the challenge left everyone with their fair share of cuts, bruises, blisters, and aches, there was never any doubt that it was all worth it. Taking on such a demanding event for such an incredible cause made every painful step worthwhile.
Being able to share the experience alongside family and friends made the challenge that little bit more bearable and created memories that will last a lifetime. The encouragement, laughs, and support along the way helped carry the team through some of the toughest moments of the walk.
The Perfect Finish
After completing 100 kilometres on foot in challenging conditions, Matt was particularly pleased to discover he could celebrate his achievement by heading straight to the pub just in time to watch Spurs play. To make the day even better, Spurs secured a win, and survived relegation providing the perfect ending to an unforgettable weekend – relief all round!
Back on Their Feet
A few weeks on, we’re pleased to report that everyone is slowly returning to normal life and, most importantly, walking properly again!
We’re incredibly proud of Matt and the entire team for their determination, resilience, and commitment to supporting Harry’s Rainbow. Their efforts have helped raise valuable funds for a charity that makes a real difference to so many families.
Congratulations to Matt, Rob, Odette, Richard, and Carl on an amazing achievement-and thank you to everyone who donated and supported them along the way.
