Another Busy Month for the FMS Team
July has been another fantastic month at Facilities Management Solutions, with our team delivering a wide variety of commercial projects while continuing to support local businesses, schools and community organisations. Alongside completing maintenance and refurbishment works across multiple sectors, we’ve also attended some fantastic events, welcomed a new team member and celebrated some brilliant achievements.
Here’s a look back at what we’ve been up to throughout July.
Delivering Projects Across the Region
Our team has been busy completing a wide range of planned and reactive works for commercial clients throughout the month.
We carried out a professional cladding clean at our commercial client’s unit, helping to refresh the exterior of their building, while elsewhere our teams completed entrance door threshold replacement works, roller shutter door replacements, fence repairs, racking remedial works, cladding tile repairs and line marking projects to improve both safety and appearance across client sites.
Several commercial properties also benefited from our drone roof surveys, allowing detailed inspections to be completed safely and efficiently. We also installed specialist window film to reduce glare for forklift drivers, creating a safer and more comfortable working environment for warehouse staff.
As part of a larger refurbishment project, phase one vinyl removal was successfully completed, alongside concrete block relocation works and the installation of a new container at one of our commercial client’s premises.
Another significant project this month saw our team complete new tarmac surfacing at a commercial site. To ensure there was no disruption to the client’s day-to-day operations, the works were carefully scheduled over the weekend, allowing the business to continue operating as normal once the working week resumed.
With the recent warm weather, we’ve also been installing air conditioning systems for commercial clients, helping businesses create cooler, more comfortable working environments for their employees throughout the summer months.
Supporting Schools During the Summer Break
As schools break up for the summer holidays, our team has been working closely with education settings to complete essential maintenance and improvement projects while buildings are unoccupied. Carrying out these works during the holiday period allows schools to minimise disruption and ensures classrooms, facilities and surrounding areas are ready to welcome students and staff back in September.
From planned maintenance and refurbishment projects to general building improvements, our teams have been helping schools make the most of the summer break. It’s this proactive approach and our ability to deliver projects within tight holiday timeframes that has helped us build long-standing relationships with education providers, who continue to trust us year after year to prepare their sites for the new academic year.
Supporting Our Community
July has also been a brilliant month for getting involved within our local community.
We were delighted to attend the official opening of our client’s brand-new unit, where the Mayor of Milton Keynes cut the ribbon to mark the occasion. It was an incredibly inspiring event, particularly hearing from several young adults who shared how the business has helped provide them with a second chance through education, training and support.
Continuing our commitment to supporting local initiatives, we proudly sponsored another SportsAid lunch, with Dan and Carl representing FMS at the event, helping raise awareness and support for young sporting talent.
We also sponsored the Inspiring Futures Through Learning (IFTL) Awards, celebrating the incredible dedication of teachers and school staff who make such a positive difference to young people’s lives every day.
Networking remained an important focus throughout the month too, with Brad attending both the City Breakfast networking event and Business Buzz, while Lolah and Ashley enjoyed attending the Women in PropConnect event at Delapré Abbey, connecting with professionals from across the property and construction industries.
To round off the month, we were proud to co-sponsor the MKPCN Summer Networking Event, bringing together businesses from across Milton Keynes for another fantastic evening of collaboration, conversation and new connections.
Celebrating Success and Welcoming New Faces
July has been a month of exciting milestones for the FMS team.
Firstly, we’d like to congratulate Lolah on successfully completing her Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship with an overall Distinction. It’s a fantastic achievement after years of hard work, and we’re proud to see her continue developing within the business.
We were also delighted to welcome Maddie Humphrey to Facilities Management Solutions as our new Project Manager. Maddie has already hit the ground running, supporting projects across the business, and we’re excited to have her as part of the team.
Looking Ahead
July has been another month of delivering high-quality facilities management solutions across a diverse range of sectors. From supporting schools during the summer holidays and completing commercial refurbishment projects to strengthening relationships within our local community and continuing to grow our team, we’re proud of everything we’ve achieved over the past month.
As we head into August, our teams remain committed to helping businesses and organisations maintain safe, compliant and well-managed buildings, and we look forward to sharing more of our projects and successes with you next month.
