October has been another busy month for the FMS team, with a wide range of planned maintenance, urgent repairs and larger projects delivered across our clients’ sites. We’ve also been out in the local business community, supported fundraising activities and welcomed a new face to the team.
Battling the Rain and Keeping Things Moving
The torrential rain brought its fair share of challenges this month, with our team responding to multiple call-outs to help clients deal with the effects of the bad weather. We also carried out downpipe investigations, drainage jetting, drainage remedial works and an ACO drainage installation to help address drainage issues and keep water flowing where it should.
Alongside this, we completed a range of repairs and practical improvements to make clients’ sites safer and easier to use. From automatic door replacements and wall repairs to refreshed line marking and clearer signage for delivery vehicles, the work helped keep facilities running smoothly day to day. We also supported clients with storage and equipment requirements.
Delivering Projects That Make a Difference
Beyond the day-to-day call-outs, our team supported a variety of larger and more specialist works in October. These included substantial repairs to a swimming pool surround, construction work on a new outbuilding and the installation of specialist blackout solutions for a filming studio. Each required a different approach, from coordinating building works to adapting spaces for a specific purpose.
Elsewhere, we removed and disposed of market units to help prepare a site for its next use, while also carrying out lift repairs, drainage investigations using CCTV surveys, and fire risk assessments. It’s a good snapshot of the range of services we coordinate – from improving existing buildings to supporting clients with more complex site requirements.
Getting Involved in Our Local Community
Our community connections continued throughout October, with the team taking part in some brilliant local events. We were proud to co-sponsor the MKPCN networking event at Revolución de Cuba, which brought local businesses together for an Oktoberfest-themed evening and gave us another opportunity to build relationships outside of our usual project work.
We also celebrated World Food Day by taking part in challenges hosted by MK Food Bank. Lolah, Bradley, Ayden and Nasra got involved in games including Hungry Hippos, Feed the Families and The Floor Is Lava, all helping raise awareness of the work MK Food Bank does to support people in our community. There was a competitive side to the day too, with Lolah and Bradley coming away in first place!
Brad also attended an AI event to explore emerging technology and consider how new tools could support the way we work and deliver services to clients.
A New Face Joins FMS
We were pleased to welcome Joe to the team as our new Project Manager. As FMS continues to grow, bringing new experience into the business helps us keep projects moving, support our clients and continue delivering the service they expect from us. We’re looking forward to having Joe on board and seeing what’s ahead.
Looking Back on October
FMS completed around 100 projects, covering planned servicing, emergency call-outs, compliance checks, remedial works and larger project stages. It reflects the variety of work the team has been handling, alongside our community activities and the arrival of Joe.
A huge thank you to our team for their hard work throughout the month, and to our clients and partners for their continued support. We’re looking forward to seeing what November brings!
