FMS September 2026 Recap

September has been another busy month for FMS, with our teams continuing to improve client spaces, complete essential maintenance and prepare buildings for the months ahead. Alongside the work happening across our clients’ sites, we have also had plenty going on behind the scenes, with team development, networking and opportunities to spend quality time with our clients.

Improving the Spaces Our Clients Rely On

A lot of our work this month has focused on improving the safety, appearance and functionality of the spaces our clients rely on every day. Our teams have carried out paving and step repairs, installed a new bike stand and completed line marking to make pedestrian areas safer. We also carried out a clear up in a car park, replaced decking and completed a new manhole installation.

Landscaping has also been a big part of September, including cutting back bramble along a footpath and cutting down an overgrown field so pedestrians could walk through the area more easily. One of our standout projects was an award winning garden renovation, where we removed existing timber sleepers and posts before installing new pressure treated sleepers and securely fixing them in place. The surrounding areas were then reinstated, made good and left clean and tidy.

We also completed a large commercial window clean, alongside a door installation and the removal of a portacabin to clear and improve the surrounding space.

Getting Buildings Ready for Autumn and Winter

As we move towards autumn and winter, our teams have been focusing on making sure buildings are ready for the changing weather. Roof and gutter clearance was carried out following nesting season, ensuring these areas were clear before winter, while downpipes were also unblocked to help keep rainwater flowing effectively.

Drainage has been another key focus, with new projects getting underway alongside drainage surveys. Some of the works have been scheduled over weekends to minimise disruption to staff and visitors while essential work takes place.

We have also carried out an electrical survey, completed an EPC report for a client and carried out reassurance asbestos air testing and a toilet extraction fan motor repair. Alongside this, we have installed a new door and quoted for a protective bracket around forklift battery chargers, helping our clients stay on top of their buildings, maintenance and compliance requirements.

Growing FMS and Strengthening Client Relationships

Team photoshoot, prop connect networking, dan's shooting day, mk theatre tour

September has also brought exciting new opportunities, with the onboarding of new FMS+ clients. FMS+ provides ongoing commercial building management support, giving clients a single point of contact for their facilities requirements and helping coordinate maintenance, contractors, compliance and building requirements. This provides a more organised and proactive approach to managing a commercial property, allowing clients to have greater oversight of their building while reducing the time spent coordinating different maintenance requirements.

As our team continues to grow, we also held a team photoshoot to capture updated images of the people behind FMS, alongside a strategic whole-team meeting where we discussed the future of the business, shared ideas and brainstormed our next steps. Outside of the office, Lolah and Bradley attended the PropConnect networking event at Stanwick Lakes, while Dan headed to a shooting day event with his team, who came away in first place.

We also hosted a lunchtime theatre tour event for our clients at Milton Keynes Theatre, giving everyone the chance to step away from the usual project work and enjoy something different together. It was a brilliant opportunity to spend quality time with our clients, strengthen relationships and connect outside of the usual working environment. The pizza from MK Gallery was also a great addition to the day!

Another Busy Month at FMS

From landscaping and drainage to building surveys, maintenance and site improvements, September has been about keeping our clients’ spaces safe, functional and looking their best.

At the same time, we have continued to invest in our team, grow our client relationships and look at new ways to support the organisations we work with. With plenty more projects underway and the colder months approaching, we are looking forward to everything October has in store.

A huge thank you to our customers for their continued support and to our team for all their hard work throughout another busy month.
