Our Managing Director Carl Yeomanson was honoured by the Mayor of Milton Keynes at the annual MK Mayor’s Awards on Friday evening, receiving the ‘Community Champion’ Award for 2024.
He was recognised for: ‘taking his grass root principles out into the community, showing unwavering support for projects and individuals along the way.’
This amazing honour comes off the back of the combined efforts of Carl himself (alongside his wife Hayley) and both FMS and our sister-company Plumbing & Gas Solutions, since 2010.
Carl said: “I am honoured to receive this award, even more so having shared the table with the other brilliant nominees. Thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress for the award and their kind words.”
“I was born and raised in Milton Keynes and I’ve lived here my whole life, so it’s very important to me and my family that our businesses give back to the city we call our home and the amazing community of people and organizations within.”
The MK Mayor’s Awards brought together a collection of people from all different backgrounds and roles, with the main thing that connects them all being a desire to make the city a better place, in one way or another. People from education, healthcare, sport and charity were all nominated for their contributions to Milton Keynes.
The Operations Director of our sister company, Plumbing & Gas Solutions, Darryl Taylor nominated Carl for the award.
He said: “I saw the nominations were open and I couldn’t think of anyone more suited to be crowned ‘Community Champion’ than Carl.”
“I’ve seen first-hand how much Carl cares about giving back to the community, and I know he is too humble to ever think of himself when this type of opportunity come around. So, I nominated him, and while there were undoubtedly many other great nominees – and two more amazing finalists – no one could be more deserving of that title.”
